  • <span class="title">RCMP facilities tour</span><br/>As a part of the first State Visit by a New Zealand Governor-General to Canada, the Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand visited the stables of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Ottawa on 30 April 2008. The Vice-Regal Couple are pictured with Superintendent John Gaudet, Officer-in-Charge of the Musical Ride Branch, and a member of the RCMP.
  • <span class="title">Meeting the Chief Justice</span><br/>As a part of the first State Visit by a New Zealand Governor-General to Canada, the Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand visited the Supreme Court of Canada and met the Chief Justice, Rt Hon Beverley McLachlin (seated centre front) on 1 May 2008.   • <span class="title">Meeting the Canadian Governor-General</span><br/>As a part of the first State Visit by a New Zealand Governor-General to Canada, the Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand held talks with the Canadian Governor-General, Rt Hon Michaelle Jean, and Mr Jean-Daniel Lafond at Government House in Ottawa on 1 May 2008. After the meeting, the Canadian Vice-Regal couple hosted the New Zealand Vice-Regal Couple to a State Luncheon.
  • <span class="title">Tomb of the Unknown Soldier</span><br/>To honour the Canadians who had lost their lives serving their country, the Governor-General of New Zealand, the Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial in Confederation Square in Ottawa on 1 May 2008.
  • <span class="title">War Amps National Headquarters visit</span><br/>As a part of the first State Visit by a New Zealand Governor-General to Canada, the Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand visited the War Amps National Headquarters on 1 May 2008. Founded by national charter in 1920 as The Amputations Association to assist veterans of the First World War who had lost limbs in the conflict, the War Amps has expanded its programmes to assist all Canadians who have had limbs amputated. Created in 1975, the CHild AMPutee (CHAMP) Programme is built on the Winner’s Circle philosophy that encourages child amputees (Champs) to accept their amputations and develop a positive approach to challenges. The Governor-General and Mrs Satyanand are Yousif Kadoura (12).   • <span class="title">Deputy Speaker of the Canadian Senate</span><br/>The Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand, held talks with Deputy Speaker of the Canadian Senate, Hon Rose-Marie Losier-Cool, at Parliament Buildings on 2 May 2008.
  • <span class="title">Auditor-General of Canada</span><br/>The Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand, met the Auditor-General of Canada, Sheila Fraser, at the Government House guest house in Ottawa on May 2 2008.
  • <span class="title">Speaker of the House of Commons</span><br/>The Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand, attended a reception and luncheon hosted by the Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, Hon Peter Milliken, on 2 May 2008. Also pictured on the left is HE Kate Lackey, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Canada, and on the right, HE Penny Reedie, Canada’s High Commissioner to New Zealand.
