Credentials Ceremony September 2008

  • <span class="title">China's Ambassador presents his credentials</span><br/>The Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, HE Zhang Limin, at a ceremony at Government House Wellington on 30 September 2008. Mr Limin is pictured with his spouse Madame Li Yajun and the Governor-General. Mr Zhang joined the Foreign Service in 1975 and has had previous postings in Denmark, and as Ambassador to Cyprus and most recently Latvia.   • <span class="title">Swaziland's High Commissioner presents his credentials</span><br/>The Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, accepted the credentials of the new High Commissioner of Swaziland, HE Mpumelelo Hlophe, at a ceremony at Government House Wellington on 30 September 2008. Mr Mpumelelo Hlophe, who is based in Kuala Lumpur, joined the Foreign Service in 1981 and has had previous postings to New York and as Ambassador to Denmark, High Commissioner to South Africa and more recently Malaysia.
  • <span class="title">Kazakhstan's Ambassador presents his credentials</span><br/>The Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador of Kazakhstan, HE Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev, at a ceremony at Government House Wellington on 30 September 2008.  Mr Baudarbek-Kozhatayev came from an academic background and joined the Foreign Service in 1992. He has had previous postings to Japan and now as Ambassador to Singapore and non-resident Ambassador to Australia. He is pictured with the Governor-General and Third Secretary Bulat Sugurbayev.
  • <span class="title">Nepal's Ambassador presents his credentials</span><br/>the Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador of Nepal, HE Yogendra Dhakal, at a ceremony at Government House Wellington on 30 September 2008. Mr Dhakal, who is resident in Canberra, had a career as a journalist/writer and political analyst before becoming Ambassador to Australia earlier this year. On 30 September 2008, Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, hosted the last credentials ceremony at Government House Wellington prior to its closure for a three year conservation project.
