The Drawing Room in Government House Wellington is an elegant L-shaped room and is located immediately to the north of the Ballroom.  The room is used for formal receptions and ceremonies, including those where foreign envoys present their credentials to the Governor-General.

A feature of the Drawing Room is the painting of Captain Charles Clerke, painted by Nathaniel Dance in 1776.  It is believed to be the only known image of this friend and colleague of Captain James Cook.

Opening off the Drawing Room are the Conservatory and the Small Drawing Room.
